Information about a new text message scam:
Reports from various Indiana credit union
sources, and our own members, have came in detailing a new text
messaging scam that mentions Finance Center FCU. Messages are similar
to "Your services were suspended for suspicious activity. Call us
back". These scams are being fully investigated.
We would like to remind our membership that:
** We will not contact you
through SMS text messaging
** Never respond to an
unfamiliar phone number or website, these may appear legitimate when
they are given to you, but they ask for personal information like
account numbers, card numbers, names, social security numbers, or a
combination of these.
** We have
a service that verifies transactions on your Visa debit and Visa credit
cards, however they will NOT ask for your card number. They will
typically verify you by a phone number, and you will talk to an actual
person, NOT an automated line.
** Delete suspicious
messages. If you don't feel comfortable opening it, DELETE it. If it is
legitimate it is something we can resend you.

- Pay bills with HFBCU Online Bill Pay during
the month of August. For every bill you pay you will receive one entry,
so the more bills you pay the more entries you will receive
- Guess the "secret" moment or item in the
HFBCU lobby during HFBCU Online Bill Pay Week, 8/18/08 - 8/22/08, and
receive one entry. You could receive one entry for each day!

HFBCU's staff will be creating
"SECRET" moments or items for our
members to notice.

"SECRET" moments or items can be anything that has changed in our main
office lobby, or something that is just plain odd.
If you think you have spotted the
"SECRET" moment or item, or if you just want to have fun guessing, let
one of HFBCU's main office employees know.
You can guess as
many times as you like until you get it right.
Each day if
you guess right you will receive:
- An HFBCU give away
- An entry into the HFBCU Online Bill Pay Month
of Prizes random drawing, as long as you qualify
